REDS

2009 de la Tierra (blend)

We have now released our red blend that is dedicated to the wine makers and blenders of Spain. We acknowledge their efforts on the back label, and on the front the art of an unknown graffiti artist found on a wall repair in Barcelona. Mouvedre, Granache, and Syrah make up this blend.

The wine exhibits many of the qualities that are found in these blends. Fruit of reduced blackberries, leather, spice, graham cracker, herbs, and soft tannins. Allow another 2 to 3 years of aging.

Retail: $25.00     Wine Club: $20.00

2009 Grenache,  Vogelzang Vineyard (Santa Ynez Valley)

This is another one of our favorite wines to make.  The wine starts out a little on the angular side when bottled, but always comes together, almost magically, to create a lovely wine.  The initial aromas are of dried currants, pomegranate and strawberry pie that round into sweet potpourri, black licorice, light toasty oak and cinnamon spice.  The supple flavors are full of ripe plum, graham cracker crust, sweet vanilla bean, dark chocolate and a nice sprinkling of spice box.

Retail: $30.00     Wine Club: $24.00

2007 Nebbiolo,  Stolpman Vineyard (Santa Barbara County)

This classic Italian variety spent close to 2 years in the barrel.  After close to one and a half years in bottle we are finally releasing this much anticipated wine.  An intriguing aromatic contrast of light cherry blossoms, rose petals and orange peel play off black mission olives, tar, smoke and forest floor.  This wine will age wonderfully over the next 5++ years.

Retail: $30.00     Wine Club: $24.00

2008 Syrah, White Hawk Vineyard (Santa Barbara County)

This is another great Syrah from the White Hawk Vineyard.  The site continues to produce some of the most intriguing wines in Santa Barbara County.  Bright, high-toned floral notes overlay blueberry fruit spiced with invigorating white pepper.  A core of plum and mixed berry pie is backed by layers of earth and light oaky toast and tannins.  This wine has excellent structure. The fruit stuffing and firm acids will allow this wine to live gracefully another 5+ years.

Retail: $30.00     Wine Club: $24.00
