OLD CREEK RANCH WINERY

FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

SALE: February 8th through 24th

• 20% off 2005 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and 2005 Thompson Vineyard
Syrah

• We are now releasing our 2005 Thompson Vineyard Barrel Select Syrah, fifteen cases only. This bottling was aged in a new François Frères, Vosges Forest barrels for 16 months, and bottle aged 10 months. This oak gives a sweet toasty component to the wine. $30/Bottle, 6 bottles to a customer.

• 2004 Westerly Merlot, eighteen cases, is being released as well. This is a French style wine; slight mushroom and earthy tones from a very hard to source grapes from vineyard.

We wish to thank our loyal customers for supporting us through the difficulties we had with the county planning department and our tasting room. After the newspapers published the story many thought we had closed. But, we are open just as before. With some of our county issues behind us we are glad to be back in the warm and cozy gift shop/tasting room again. It has been so cold at the ranch that we have had a fire in the pot bellied stove almost every day.

Soon we will be announcing a WINE CLUB, which will offer discounts on every purchase and first to be available wines and on the house tasting. Some customers have asked to sign up in advance for the club.

We also will be changing our policy of not charging for tasting. We pour over 60 cases per year, and can’t absorb this expense based on the prices we pay for the premium grapes from some of the most sought after vineyards.

This Valentine’s Day would have been our third annual Red Wine and Chocolate Festival BUT the county will not allow us to sell food, so, if you would like to visit and BYOC (Bring Your Own Chocolate) to taste with our red wines we will welcome
you gladly.

Our wines are now available in Brooks Restaurant, Ventura. If you haven’t tried the restaurant give it a try. Andy Brooks is a unique culinary artist. Excellent wine list as well.

The Side Car Restaurant now has our Cabernet Sauvignon along with our whites.

For our Ojai customers: We are sold at, Ranch House, Ojai Liquors, Starr Market, and the redecorated Regals Wine and Cheese.

The residents of Old Creek Road have expressed concern over the traffic our business generates. We would like to ask all of you to carpool, if possible, and to drive very, very slowly through the neighborhood. There are children and pets and as you know the road is very narrow in places.

As always our best to you, and see you soon.
