California Wine Month
If you visit the winery during September, which is California Wine
Month, you may just get to watch us crush grapes. It is a unique opportunity to see the first stages of the
life of a wine and the beginning of our 2009 winemaking process. We are completely out of our 2007
Viognier, our 2007 Riesling Ice Wine, and now have less than 6 cases left of
our 90-point, 2006 Napa Petite Sirah. For the Petite Sirah, we are keeping the price the same ($24.95), but
are no longer giving discounts since we are in short supply. Again, our current
Club members still get their Club discount.
Look forward to our

Future Happenings
Mark on your calendar for Sept. 19 (3-6pm) for the Taste
of Ojai at the Ojai Valley Inn, and Sept. 26th (5-9pm) for the Boccali’s
Tomato Festival at their
restaurant at Reeves Road and Hwy. 150. We are pouring our wines at both events.
Planning far ahead, there will be a fabulous fundraiser on November 14 called “Wings and Wine”. Taking place in a hanger at the Camarillo Airport, several local wineries
will be pouring wines in between historic World War II planes such as a
Japanese Zero, a P-51 and many others. Money raised will assist in the maintaining of these historic
aircraft. As a really special
addition, Carmel Whitman’s uncle, Al Williams, will be coming in from Michigan
for the event. Al was a tail gunner
on a B-17 and was shot down over Germany. He survived the parachute fall, months as a POW in Germany, and has self-published
a book about his experiences called “Falling Down for the Count.” The book sells for $27 retail but with
the purchase of a ticket to the event the book will be available for $20 and
part of the proceeds will support the Museum. The Museum will be flying in a B-17 from Chino in honor of
Al’s attending.Tickets will be available at participating wineries and at the
Museum. As more details become
available we will keep you posted. This is going to be a very, very unique event and we don’t want you to
miss it so mark your calendars now!
